What do you think of the sibset: Asher Theodore Finn & Tobias Lincoln Wilder nn Toby??? Each name has some kind of honoring significance.

WDYT about the boys name Dustin? Fn/mn preference?
Thanks!

I like Asher and Tobias as a sibset, they fit very well together. Both strong and Biblical.

Dustin is nice, I've always had a soft spot for it. I probably wouldn't use it myself, but it is nice to hear. I'm kind of neutral on fn/mn preference, it would be good either way.

Been obsessed with Virgil Grey lately...would it be terrible to meet a little boy by that name?

I wouldn't use Virgil myself, and I definitely agree it has a kind of old-man feel, but I think that if I met a sweet little boy with this name I would come to like it on him. I adore Grey (though I slightly prefer Gray), and I really do like the combo overall.

Asher Theodore Finn & Tobias Lincoln Wilder fit together wonderfully.

I'm honestly not a fan of Dustin because a) it reminds me of dust, unfortunately, and B) I'm not a fan of similar names (Justin, Austin, etc.), but I would prefer it in the first name spot because it has more of a "first name feel" than a "middle name feel" to me, if that makes any sense.

I have a small dilemma that's been plaguing my mind for weeks now. My ideal combo for my first daughter has been Annaliese Linda for quite some time, honoring my mother Linda. However, I've come to like Evelina more than Annaliese and still want to do something with the middle to honor my mother... but obviously Evelina Linda doesn't work. I'm stuck because I don't like any variations of Linda: Linden, Lindsey, Rosalind(a), etc. None of them really work for me.

Evelina ends in -lina, which is very close to Linda, but it still doesn't feel like enough. What do you think? (Currently, Evelina Rue is on my list, which I adore, but I have other problems with Rue anyway.)

I actually know a little girl named Evelinda and I adore it

Evelina Rue is super cute.

To honor Linda, what about a name that shares the meaning? Linda and Jolie both mean pretty according to Nameberry, so maybe Evelina Jolie? Or Evelina Delyth?

Also, have you considered just Lind? I think it makes a nice standalone middle name.

Maybe add a second middle? Like Evelina May Linda, Evelina Rue Linda, Evelina Jane Linda, etc.

Thanks for the advice! I'm still iffy on the whole thing. Double middles are nice on other people's kids but I don't think I'll end up using them. I'll probably find a way to use just plain Linda, as I'd like the most direct way of honoring. Evelinda is cute but I'm still set on Evelina.

All the other questions were farther back and I answered a couple last time so I'll just ask mine?

1) Forest or Forrest? I probably won't actually use this name, and I slightly prefer Forrest, but it bothers me that the actual word is spelled with only on R.

2) Is Gale usable on a boy? I adore this name and it's meaning, but I think the association with The Hunger Games might be too strong. It does help the name feel masculine, though, since Gail/Abigail are fairly common for girls.

I like Forest/Forrest also :) It's kind of a gp of mine. I think I would use Forrest just because that way it is different from the place. I have actually seen it used this way before and think it is quite handsome <3
Gale, though I wouldn't use it myself does sound rather knightly or medieval if you know what I mean. I can see the appeal and think it could make a very nice middle name especially!

My question:
Thoughts on the name Talon. It has been on of my faves for a while and I am especially crushing on it again<3 I LOVE the nn Tal for it too. Also, is it too close to my dad's name: Alan. They do rhyme, so I don't know if that would be a problem or not... Grandpa and grandson with similar names ;)

Thanks!

Talon is not a personal favorite of mine but I think it's nice, and Tal is a really cute nickname for it. I actually like that it's similar to your dad's name. It's a nice way to honor him.

Caspar Sundance, too crazy? He'd probably go by the nn Spar.

Is Elijah Sundance better?

Honestly, Sundance is a little too much for me. Elijah Sundance isn't too bad--I love both Elijah and Caspar, and Spar is cute (though I prefer Cas as a nickname). Elijah lends itself to the handsome nickname Eli as well. If you really like Sundance, though, you could get away with it as a middle. It's not horrible.

I actually like both. I think the mn is unique even though it is nms. The only reason I would pick Elijah over Caspar is that I prefer Elijah to Caspar as a name.

My question:

Thoughts on the g/b twin set... Martha & Larson?
Nicknames would be Ari & Lars and their initials would be switched (still working on the mns though!)
Thanks!

Hmm. I like both Martha and Larson, but Martha seems vintage and Larson modern. I think Ari and Lars are fantastic together though.

I don't see what I need to answer but I think Martha and Larson are cute together.

Is Beatrice Paige cute or is Beatrice too trendy due to divergent? If it matters I like the nickname Bea instead or Tris.

Beatrice isn't too trendy because of divergent. It is definitely coming back, but more so with the wave of classics. Don't love Paige but it's alright.

I think Beatrice is nice vintage sort of name. Ages quite well I think. Not a fan of Paige I'm afraid.

My DD is called Indiana. What names would you suggest for siblings?
Boys: name. nature name. James.
Girls: name. nature name. May.

Indiana is interesting and unique without being too crazy. It's a really nice name, but it's hard to pair in a sibset because it's so different. But I'll do my best.

Sibling ideas for Indiana:

Girls: Laurel, Rosemary, Ophelia, Scarlett, June, Marlowe, Penelope, Emmeline, Lorelei

Boys: Gabriel, Sterling, Alexander, Lincoln, Sawyer, Felix, Warren, Clark, Fletcher, Beckett, Miles

Here's my question:

I've always like Will, and recently I've fallen in love with it again. The problem is, I'm not sure if I like William enough to use it. I don't dislike William, but it feels a little too stiff to me. I love Will so much, and considering we'd call him that just about all the time, is it really a big deal? I don't like variants such as Wilson, Willard, etc.

I think Will could work as a standalone name; people are naming their sons Charlie and Freddie, why not Will?

Thoughts on Booker? I quite like it, but not sure I like it enough to add it to my list.

I do like Booker, as I'm a fan of -er names for boys. I wouldn't use it myself but I would like it on someone else's kid.

I absolutely LOVE August on a boy.

I would pair it with a more masculine middle since August is unisex. Although it's a bit of an offbeat name so it's hard to find a good middle, so I would suggest looking at middles you like already and seeing what fits. Some suggestions:

August Henry

August Levi

August Andrew

August Miles (too wordy?)

August James

August Luke

August Roman (too wordy?)

August Nathaniel

Here's my question:

For now, I've decided to go for William because as much as I love Will I feel like it's not complete on its own as a first name. I'm looking for middle name suggestions for William. I'm a fan of classics, but feel free to suggest anything because William is already classic and sometimes you need some balance between classic and newer names.

Thanks! I really like August Levi and August Roman! If I were to use double middles I might consider August Levi Roman :)

Middles for William...

William Ramond (I know a little Wil with this name)
William Theodore
Wiiliam Oscar
William Jett
William Jace
William Jack
William Finn/Finley
William Cade
William Evander
William Everett
William Atticus
William August
William Ford
William Asher
Wiliam Elijah
William Forrest
William Foster
William Emmett (might be "m" heavy)
William Collin
William Kai
William Harper

Threw some out there. Hope you like!
