The name itself I don't hate. It seems like a greek goddess type of name like Apollo, Athena, Artemis, Persephone, etc.

I think both of the names sound more feminine. I don't like it.

It does seem incredibly feminine The "Ph" makes me think of Phoebe, "ae" together looks feminine and the "-dra" ending makes me think of Alexandra. It all adds up to girl for me.

Yeah, it's of Greek origin and it's a girl name. I think it's actually sort of sucky that they used it for their son. Phaedra was the daughter of King Minos according to NB.
Also, there is a woman on the Real Housewives of Atlanta whose name is Phaedra. I wouldn't exactly call her famous or a "celeb", but she is now in the public eye more, so I'm sure that's who some people think of when they hear the name; I know I do.
