I am writing a story about a popular sorority sister in the late 70s and I am having trouble picking out a first name. I want something that would have been rising in popularity in the Late 50s and Early 60s but would still be fairly popular or common today. The last name will be Odum. She will also have a younger sister (real sister) who is in the same sorority as her and the names should go well together.
Here are some that I have come up with...
Lauren
Krista
Allison
Patricia
Heather
Dana
Jeana
Let me know what you think of these names and give any suggestions you can think of that might work. First Names will be fine, I don't need Middle Names.
Late 1950s Early 1960s character names.

Into the 70's all kinds of "cutsie" nicknames were popular like Cindy, Debbie, Patty, Laurie, Susie. Also, Hippy names started showing up like Sunshine, Dawn, Hope, etc.
But the quintessential upcoming names in the 60's that popped the charts in the '70's were Lisa, Kimberly, Michelle, Julie, Tammy, Melissa and, of course...Jennifer.

Thanks for the great suggestions...
I'm thinking Kimberly/Kimber/Kim for the older sister and Pamela/Pam/Pammy, Dana or Nancy for the younger sister.
What do you think?
