Frances (Princess Diana's middle name. I think there is a high possibility that they will use it because, the meaning first of all and because Charlotte's middle name is already Diana)

I think the use of Diana in the middle is probably inevitable. Never thought about the possibility of Spencer for a boy. Can't say I think it's a particularly attractive given name myself so not something I'd get excited about.

 

I really can't make up my mind whether they're going to go typically "Royal" or be a bit more imaginative. Could go either way. From what I've seen, and this may just be the papers I read, most people seem to be gunning for Meaghan ALL THE TIME so they'll get criticised whatever they do. 

 

Of the traditional royal names my favourites would be Alexandra or Frederick but somehow I can't see it being either of those.

Since the pregnancy was announced, the most talked names have been Victoria, Alice and Diana for a girl or Albert, Arthur and Philip for a boy. Other options appear to be: Elizabeth, Frances, Doria, Grace, Rachel, Sofia, Charles, James, Edward, Alfred, Henry, Frederick, etc.

 

Well, those names where also on the news for Kate and William's children and they are common bets every time a baby is born in the British Royal Family. I prefer not to believe the entire Royal Family shares the exact same list of favorite names . But if they chose a family name, I'll root for Victoria and Alice for a girl, but I love Diana and Alexandra too. For a boy, the only names I don't like are Charles, Albert, Ernest, Leopold and Alfred. I love James, Frederick and Edward as first names.

 

Names like Amy and Lily have been pointed out for a girl too. I think Amy would be a good nickname for Amelia! Lily would also be a great choice and I'm really hoping they bring new names into their family! I've been thinking a lot about Harriet for a girl.

Anyone with late guesses on the royal baby? I find it interesting so many bets have been made on the Duke and Duchess having twins. Thoughts? Thoughts on names for twins? After some research, I've been rethinking my names.

 

If you look at recent history, the second, third, etc. children born in the royal family have not completely used "royal" names. Here are the names of Queen Elizabeth's grandchildren:

While each name contains some royalty, I think there is more leeway with the children born to the "spare" to the throne. Might Meghan follow Anne, Princess Royal and pull out a name similar to "Zara". Hmm, has me thinking!
