One of my classmates brought his daughters into class tonight to help with his presentation and their names were India and (I think) Samas. I've never heard the name and I'm not sure how it's spelled, but it's pronounced SAM-iss. What do you guys think? Have you ever heard it? I'm thinking they just made it up, because she's clearly named after her dad (Sam) and I assume they wanted something more unique than Samantha to go with India.

Can't say I like it, though I don't like India either. I've never heard of it and it does sound made up so she could be named after her dad. Why a real name like Samantha/Samara/Samiya wasn't good enough is beyond me. I really don't get the whole making up names thing.

I don't mind it. I'd never use it myself, but on someone elses kid... Samas sounds semi neat
India, I dislike! Indigo, I guiltily like... :insert sheepish grin: It's pretty cute!

Samas is nms either. It definitely sounds made up. I don't care for India either.
