Hi guys,
I just started a new story and am already stuck. I have names for the characters but I don't think that they fit their personalities very well. My story is about a forensic analyist's old high school sweetheart being kidnapped by a killer bound on making her fall for him. He kills his own brother in the beginning and is set on doing anything. Not only is he in love with her but he also wants the files that they have on that killing. Her boyfriend is kidnapped and it's up to her to find him, since the police and her team won't let her help and they are getting no where.
The current names are:
Lacey Randall- She is the main character and is very independent. She keeps her personal life seperate from everything and tends to not let emotions show. Ever since she and her old boyfriend broke up, she has never been able to recover; she has had very few relationships, and tends to be very cautious when it comes to love or letting emotions show. She is still in love with her boyfriend, always wondering why he broke her heart.
Ryan Parker- He is the old boyfriend of Lacey. Ryan is a journalist that is very good at his job. He seems as if he has moved on, but in fact he still loves Lacey even though he ended their relationship. Ryan is not afraid to show his emotions, he shows them when appropriate though. He still lives with his parents in the guest house. He is a very supportive, sensitive person while at the same time tough, sincere and intelligente.
Andy ? (for him I need a new first and last name please)- He is the lead investigator for major crimes and is Lacey's boss. He is very controlling and has a strategy for everything. He is also a very independent person that is understanding; Andy is the "big brother" of the team becasue everyone knows him very well and he is there to protect them. Andy has a relatively shaddy past that only a few people know about (only two for the purposes of the story).
If you guys could come up with some suggestions for the names of the characters that would be great. I would be willing to take last name sugestions too but preferablily just first names. Thanks so much for all of your help!
Please help me

I actually like Andy for the boss, it seems like a very personable and understanding sort of name. Not very intimidating. I think of someone like Andy Bellefleur from True Blood (if you've ever watched the show) who trys to act all tough and intimidating but no one really takes him seriously and he's pretty much a big softy.
I am a bit confused by your discription with all the hes and shes.
The serial killer is a man who is in love with Lacey, your main character? Or a woman in love with the ex-boyfriend, Ryan?
And the serial killer killed his/her own brother?

Sorry about the confusion. Lacey, the main character, is in love with her old boyfriend still. Her old boyfriend is Ryan. The serial killer is in love with Lacey and he killed his brother. I hope that clears things up! Thanks

Lacey doesn't fit! It sounds sort of old, generic. It fits in with the Tracey, Stacey stuff. Maybe Macey, if you want a more modern twist on the style.
Corrine
Maya
Delia
ophelia
Emmaline
Hermia
Wren
Bryn
Blaire
Blaine
Sloane
For her last name, I think Farrel or Drew would be good.
Ryan is sort of generic, but there isn't much wrong with it. Parker sort of washes it out. A cool last name would give it a lot of flavor, and maybe any guy-friends would call him by that?
Savage
Fletcher
Lake
Chase
Sachs
Bell
Gaston
Andy is fine, I agree with the above poster.
