I was talking names with my Mum this morning, and I told her how much I LOOOVE the name Amelie.
She doesnt like it at all!! She thinks it sounds mispronounced :/
I mean.. I had never heard the name before I joined BNG, so its pretty rare over here.. but I told her that I want to have little British kids :') An Amelie is quite popular over their...? Isnt it?
Nonetheless I still love Amelie...
Its actually strange how much my name taste has changed in the past few years.. I use to hate names like, Scarlett, Poppy and Amelia. Now I love them! <3
Anyways just wanted to share my annoyance

I found Amelia was much more popular in England/Britain.
But Amelie is quite popular as far as I know, in places like France.
[FYI Amelie is pronounced Ah-mel-ee]

I do love Amelie as well, and my mum doesn't like it either!
Maybe it's the generation, haha!
I'm sure she'd fall in love with it if you named a baby such. Plus, nice and unique!

Thats what I think. If you name your baby say Deanna Emily, and you tell your mom, Murphy's Law guarentee's she'll hate it. But later on, when your holding little Deanna, She'll love it!

Mmmm, but Yas your Mum is French.. so she probably grew up hearing similar name styles to Amelie.... Whereas my Mum grew up with Jessica's, Sarah's and Elizabeth's...
You Girls are right... it would evantually grow on her... <3

My mom is wise enough to know not to voice any negativity about any name we mention. I think yours will realise quickly that no matter the name, she will love that name in time when it's attached to an actual person.
