What a pretty baby. I think thats awesome she adopted. Could she not have kids? Dont really like her name choice but it was for a good cause.

Naleigh is so beautiful! This picture is incredible!

I'm not so much a fan of Nancy or Leigh but it's nice that she wanted to honor her sister/mom. Naleigh is pretty cute though.

It's great that people adopt.
And they adopt children from disadvantaged countries etc. but what sometimes makes me upset,
and I don't want to offend anyone, but there are children in the UK and US who are waiting to be adopted, who are disadvantaged and wanting a family.

It may sound rude, but it just makes me angry sometimes ....

Sorry to rant.

I agree 100% Emily!
It makes me angry as well, but the reason most people in the US adopt from another country is because the US has such strict laws on adoption, that they make it very hard to adopt a child that is from the US. Whereas, a couple wanting to adopt can go to China/Korea or other countries and adopt much more easily! If not for all the strict laws on adoption here in the US, there would be a lot more of them adopted! The government makes it so hard, when they should just be happy that the child is finding a family!

But indeed, it is great that they adopted!
End Rant!

I agree, but there are reasons it's so hard. We've all heard of cases of adoptions gone wrong where the people should have never had a child handed over into their care.

Adoptions just one of those things I guess.

I think that parents should adopt whatever child they feel was born from their heart. Regardless of where they come from.

I really don't think we should criticize those who adopt and provide children with good homes. The fact of the matter is there's way more kids waiting to be adopted than parents willing to adopt. If we start criticizing those who adopt for things such as where they adopt from, you're only hurting the cause. The only way more kids will get adopted is if more parents adopt, and if they start to feel people will judge them for where they adopt from or other things, it may turn them off of the idea. Thus, the cause is hurted. And how does that do any good.

If we want more kids to be adopted, we should congratulate the parents on their decision and leave our opinions to ourselves.

So congrats Katherine and Josh. By adopting instead of getting pregnant, you send a wonderful example to parents all over the world. God bless the two of you and your beautiful daughter!

-Kehli

P.S. Sorry for the rant. International adoption/foreign affairs are one of the causes I champion the most, so I have strong opinions about things like this.

I also remember reading that Katherine Heigl's sister was adopted from Korea, and that's why she chose to adopt from there.

I love Naleigh - especially because of her mother/sister.
