So, Tim and I have essentially agreed on having double middles for our girls, and for the most part I absolutely love them.

What are your thoughts on double middles? Are there any bad consequences to having two middle names, like on legal documents?

Thanks!!

I'm personally not a fan of double middle names, but it's far from the worst thing in the naming world haha :P

I could see a slight problem like when children have to fill out those state tests in school and they have to put their whole name, or while applying for a job and any kind of legal document, BUT a good portion of them often just ask for a middle initial. Some will only ask for a full name the first time (like at a doctors office) and then ask for only the middle initial afterwards. But really has a whole I don't think it would be a huge problem :)

Unless of course you named her Anastasia Genevieve Marguerite "Long Surname" Hahaha! I don't think forms have that much space haha

*Sigh* Supernatural is my favorite show. Do yourself a favor and watch some of the blooper reels on youtube - those guys are hilarious. Also hurry up and watch the rest of it, seasons 1-5 get increasingly better. 6-7 are shaky but 8 has redeemed it a bit. Also, you think Dean's cute? IMO the character they introduce around the 4th season is my fave of the stars. But that's just me.

As far as middle names, I'm not sure about exactly what legal troubles there might be. Part of my wanted to do that for a long time because it is a challenge and I like too many names. In the end, though, I feel I've decided it's more important to me to have a strong & cohesive name without complicating things. Plus, as I've been involved with this name thing for a while, I've started to be in love with fewer and fewer names so it's easier to do only one middle. But really, I still think it's great to go with 2 middles if you can find names you agree with your SO on.

I essentially had 2 middle names as a child/teen. I had my name (Shannon Elizabeth) and then my moms last name as a second middle and my fathers last name as my last name. I have changed it now, getting rid of my dads last name.
It was annoying filling out forms to be honest. But that may have just been because my first and middle names are both quite long and then my moms last name is six letters.
So imagine trying to fit Elizabeth T***** into one of those teeny tiny form boxes - not exactly cool. :P
But I think if you pair 2 short/medium length names together or even 1 long and 1 short it could/would work. :)

I have an average length first name, then a short middle name and my mothers maiden name before a short last name and it was honestly confusing for me as a child. It may be different since you are using actual names rather than your maiden name but if your girls don't care for one of their middle names and never use it it could lead to trouble down the road when they are filling out important documents. I almost forgot to have my second middle name on my marriage certificate which could have caused problems. So if you do do this I would recommended making sure they always use both on all documents asking for their middle name. You wouldn't think you could forget something like that, but I did!
