What are some names that could get to the nickname Sophie, besides Sophia? Either built-in or more subtle (sorry, I don't know how to say it any other way. lol). I love both Sophia and Sophie, but they're way too popular on their own.

 

I don't like Sophronia (because of the strong O sound near the end) or Sapphire/Sapphira. Saffron doesn't do it for me either because it reminds me of that flavored rice I love eating for dinner sometimes. XD My tastes lean mostly towards uncommon classic names.

 

I love Seraphina, but I don't feel right about using it because my sister is named Sarah and our relationship isn't a very close one.

Have you considered Safiya nn Sofie? Or Persephone?

Sophelia/Sofelia

 

 

I think Seraphina is pretty, but that it's a little too close to your sister's name if you're not intending to honor her.

I like the sound of Safiya, but it will likely get confused with Sofia.  lol
