My cousin is being induced tonight w/ her first baby - They are planning on naming her Raegan. Not sure on a middle name. What are your thoughts on it? I'm unsure if I like it or not..
They said they wanted to purposefully spell it differently than President Reagan so that she wouldn't be linked to him throughout her entire life.. but I think the correlation is still there. Thoughts?
Raegan

I love the name Raegan. My moms good friend has a 7, almost 8 month old niece named Raegan Elizabeth. I think its cute, feminine and ages really well. So much better than little girls named James & Eliot & etc. =] I do think she'll probably be linked to the President a little, but not too much. No one seems to make that much of a connection between the President and the name anymore.
Congrats to your cousin!

Reagan's become popular for little girls! I know quite a few Reagans under the age of five. Not liking the trendiness of the name, and I do think of Reagan everytime I hear it, regardless of the spelling

I think of the Exorcist. It is not my style, very masculine.
Congrats on the new cousin

I quite like the name Raegan. I think it is definitely a girls name; I could not picture it on a boy. I know a few Regans, Raygans, and Reagans as well as a Raegan and I must say I like the spelling Raegan the best. I was considering Raegan Alicia (Ray-GAN Ah-LEE-See-UH) for Jasper early on, but then Roxi came up with Jasper and I fell in love with that name.

If it is pronounced the same, and only one letter switch away from the actual name I think people will always think of President Reagan when the hear/see her name. I know I would. Raegan looks cute and sounds cute as long as the president is left out of it, but I really doubt that one little change in spelling is going to keep her from being linked to him for her whole life. It really isn't my type of name either, very masquline. I wouldn't ever use it. Admittedly, Maegan is on my list for middle names. Tell you cousing congrats and good luck anyways.
