So, I've noticed that I prefer "softer" baby boy names and I was looking for thoughts, suggestions, and opinions on that style. Names that I like on boys that I think fit this definition are Ari, Asa, Avery, Harper, Remi, Robin, Sasha, Schuyler, Sawyer, River, Wren, Emry, Finch, Brooks, and Dov.

Pretty much names that could possibly be considered "girly" by some people. I just hate that girls can take all the boy names, but a boy tries to use a softer name and gets ridiculed for it (even though most of the time the name was once used exclusively for boys). So, sorry about the rant. Haha. I'm guess I'm just looking for opinions on using names like these ones in the US and for most suggestions of similar names.

In my experience, there's kind of a dual trend happening right now with boys' names: there's a trend toward softer names and there's simultaneously a trend toward cartoonishly-hypermasculine names. I much prefer the trend toward softer names than over-the-top masculine names. Yes, a name is just a name and it doesn't necessarily reflect personalities or parenting styles, but in 2020, it's hard not to wonder about what lessons about masculinity we're projecting onto boys when we give them names like Shooter and Slayer.

The reality is that kids will ridicule each other no matter what - little kids generally aren't aware and don't care about what adult society has "accepted." Girls named Ryan, Michael, and Elliott aren't immune from playground taunts that they have boys' names. Kids with super basic names like Ryan and Meg aren't immune from being informed that their names sound like "die-in" and "egg." There are zero names or styles out there which are bully-proof; I highly encourage you to take this as liberty to not care about people's opinions about whether or not "tHaT'S a GiRL's nAmE!" (:

Of your list, Ari, Robin, and Sasha are some of my favorite unisex names. I don't really know how to pronounce Asa as I've never met one in real life, and Schuyler and Sawyer are not my style, but all of your names are nice and perfectly usable! I also prefer softer boys' names, and for more names in line with your style, I might point you in the direction of nature names and Hebrew names. Some of my own favorites are:

Alexei
Ariel
Declan
Ezra
Jasper
Lachlan
Lior
Micah
Noel
Rowan
Sage

Love Asa my favorite of the names youve listed. I also feel like Shiloh fits in this category. One famous parent uses it for a girl suddenly its a girls names. For me it has far more history as a boys name and will always feel like one
