I was watching Dragonheart and I was suddenly inspired for a story.

It is set in a medieval time. There is a small group who is trying to rebel against their king. 3 guys and a girl. The girl is actually the king's sister (Im debating is she is a twin or younger.) she ran away when she was ten because of her brother's abuse and was adopted by a local family. She used to be timid, weak, and fraile, but she is now strong, intelligent, resourceful and a fighter. I imagine her as a blonde.

I'm still developing the characters. One guy I know is a jokster and happy-go-lucky. They all have a vendetta against the king. The king himself is very cruel, sadistic and merciless.

Help, please!

For the girl, I was thinking Lauda as her birth name. Princess Lauda has a nice ring to it. But for most of the book, she will be referred to as another name. I was thinking Morgan/Morgayne/Morgana, or Gaynor. WDYT? Any other suggestions?

For the King/her brother, I came across Sumner or Jevan.

I was thinking Sterling as one of the other rebels.

Tell me what you think. Any other suggestion?

I've decided on the king's name, which is Gainor.

I'm still stumped for the girl's name. I need two. One as a princess and the other as a commoner. Here are some names I came across and liked:

Ailith (KatieB suggestion)
Everild "Ever" (Same as above)
Lauda
Alodie
Morgan
Winter
Willow
Thistle
Caprice
Hadley

WDYT? When she was younger, she was weak, timid and very fragile. Now, she is strong, independent, resourceful and a fighter. I still imagine her as a naturally bleached blond with tan skin.

I'm in between Alodie and Everilda for her princess name. I decided to name their mother Lauda and changed her brother to Grayson. (I like the G for his name but each time I said his name I wanted to say Grayson or Graynor.) So we have Queen Lauda, Prince Grayson and Princess______.

Prince Grayson and Princess Alodie
Prince Grayson and Princess Everilda "Ever"

I'm still trying to figure out her commoner name. It's between Ailith, Hadley and Morgan.

In my mind she looks a lot like Mia Wasikowska (picture in my signature). Her hair is curly, a bit lighter and she is slightly more tanned.

I found names for the other rebels: Sterling, Algar, and Cobern.

I prefer Graynor to Grayson for the prince...Grayson just seems to modern to me.

I like Everilda "Ever" for the princess. I'm not sure if a completely different name is necessary or if a nn would do. If you want a completely different name she could choose the name of her maid or something when she runs away...I like Morgann. Other nn ideas...Erie, Veri, Eve, Rila, Erila, Erilda, Verda, Eda, Evy/Evee (not EVE ee but EV ee).

Didn't you say you needed another commoner girls names...Ailith would work for that...Hadley is a bit too modern to me.

Graynor definitely sounds more medieval, I like it much more.
I Like Everilda.I think her common name should be much plainer, but still more dated than the ones you have listed. I liked the suggestion of Morgana.
Adela
Cressida
Drucilla
Elvira
Gregoria
Mabyn
Maura
Maude
Phillipa
Prudence
Rufina
Wilhelmina
Zora

These are a little out there... but IMO the other names were too modern.

Thanks everyone for your help! I've decided on my names.

Queen Lauda
Prince Grayson (later King Grayson). I tried Graynor a few times and it didn't sound as good as Grayson.
Princess Everilda (Mostly refered to as Ever)/ Ailith
Sterling
Algar
Cobern
Bennett---a traitor.
