1. Fiona - I've liked this name for a while now, but I worry that it's too closely tied to Shrek, and I dislike that association. What do you think? Is it useable on a little girl? Any middle name suggestions?

2. Eva / Evelyn - I can't decide which I prefer. What do you think? I love the nickname Evie. Middle name suggestions, please?

Thank you!

I love Fiona. And I think Fiona from Burn Notice but most people do think Shrek. I still think it's useable.
I like Eva better than Evelyn and Evie is adorable.

I've always loved the name Fiona, it was on my list for a while.

I prefer Evelyn, or even Eve. I'm not a fan of Eva.

I do see Shrek when I think of Fiona, but that may be because I don't actually know a Fiona in real life. I think the association would change if I did. I think it's pretty regardless, totally usable on a little girl.

I love Evelyn especially with the nn Evie; that's on my list right now. Eva would be nice too - though I'm a little meh about it just for the fact that it's my own name.

For Fiona.. I just think devil kitty :P I never watched Shrek tbh, so I have no association with it. Oh! And I think Burn Notice! :) I've only watched it a few times, but its a good association I'd think!

Eva and Evelyn are both lovely. Though, I associate Evelyn with the English store Crabtree & Evelyn that sells soaps and lotions and such haha. Not a bad association at all, just what I think of. The botanist John Evelyn and such. I really like Eva, its on my list.

Eva Lorelei
Eva Penelope
Eva Ophelie
Eva Genevieve
Eva Gwendolyn
Eva Elissa
Eva Marielle

Lately I've been having a serious naming block :( but I hope these suggestions were helpful!

I agree, Fiona makes me think of Shrek, but that's probably just because that's where I first heard the name.

Fiona doesn't make me think Shrek, but I know two women called Fiona, so that's what I think of; my sister's godmother and my best friend's crazy girlfriend xD I think it's pretty, despite its connections to Shrek, and after all, she was a princess.

I prefer Evelyn if you're going to have the nickname Evie, because Eva just seems a little short for a nickname to me. They're both nice though.

I love Fiona. I don't think the Shrek association is particularly strong and it's definitely useable.

I adore Eva. My absolute favourite girls name is Eve (Evie) and Eva is almost as good. Evelyn is fine too, but a bit dated.
