Here is a new CAF that you can do as much or as little with as you'd like. I will post a guide for a main family and if you simply wish to leave it at that, you can, but if you want to extend it and add several generations, here are some guidelines to help make that more fun!
I made some large name banks that you can use to name each person. Feel free to use reuse any names and to use any unisex options with either gender or take a name from the boy/girl bank to use it for the opposite gender as you see fit. Also if you need to tweak a spelling that I didn't already give an option for, go ahead! (eg. Katherine -> Catherine)
To extend each family, it will be up to you to choose the marital status and gender of each character's partner. Here is a last name generator you can use if you'd like add last names for new characters and generations. Not every character needs to have children, but if you do wish to add children, then use this dice to see how many children each character will have (1-8). You may add multiples wherever you see fit. Then roll the dice again to determine the gender of each child - odd: boy, even: girl. If you would like to mix it up and add some gender nonconforming children, you may roll this dice - 1: boy, 2: girl, 3: gender nonconforming.
To add a fun element, roll this dice to see what kind of pets your family will have (you can do this for the main family as well). Roll multiple times for multiple pets and use this list to pick your pets' names. Pet genders are up to you!

Be as creative as you'd like! Add ages, nicknames, same sex parents, single parents, adopted/foster kids, step kids, etc. Here is a key that Yasmine posted with a recent CAF that you can use when making creative families:
