My husband and I are considering Roland for a boy's name - is it too weird? We like it, but we're nerds.

It's definitely not too weird!
I'm personally not a fan, but it is a fine name if you want to use it. If you love it use it!

I like it a lot, actually. It's a bit dorky, so I'd be careful what you pair it with (no Roland Arthur ;) ) maybe Jack Roland or Roland Carter. Rollo is an awesome nickname.

I am a huge fan of Stephen King novels, and one of his most epic protagonists is named Roland, so I'm absolutely in love with the name! If I have another little boy, he'll be a Roland (I've been forbidden to use Deschain for the mn, though). Love this name!

We considered this name as well as this is DH's fathers name. I still find it a little old fashioned but it definately is original these days. Some of the other ways we considered using it were as:

Ryland

Orlando

Rollins

Nolan
