My father recently passed a few years ago. We are now pregnant with number two and Id like to name my child after my dad. His name was Michael. Obviously if we have a boy, thats easy enough. Our trouble is we dont like the female equivalents -Mikaela or Michelle.

Worst case scenario we can use Michael as a female middle name. Does anyone have any other ideas? I knew a Michael-Marie once, and I like that well enough, but my husband passed on that idea.

Not sure what your naming style is, but I knew a girl named Micha. I find that name quite cute on a girl.

Micah is a pretty gender-fluid name, I knew a Michelle and a Michaela (pronounced Makayla, which is cute too!) who were named after their father Michael.

You could use the more feminine spelling of Mykal to say Michael.

You could also use Mary or Margeret.
