Okay so I really REALLY love this name, but its one of those names that you kinda don't always think about until something makes it pop up in to your mind like today in another forum. I really love the name Esmerelda. What do you all think of it? I know a lot of people probably hate the name because well I don't normally LOVE the same names as others it seems lol, but be honest. Also, what do you all think of the name Eliza? Well take care and have a great weekend! :)

I love Esmerelda! I had a friend in elementary school named Esmerelda and she went by Ezzie, which I thought was cute. :) Eliza, I like, but it always makes me think of Liza Minelli (sp?) and she just creeps me out. Eek! I love Elsa, though.

Ha I know what you mean about Liza Minelli (cant spell her name to save my life lol). But, I am a big Audrey Hepburn fan and so when I hear Eliza I think of Eliza Dolittle, a character she played. Oh and Elsa makes me think of like a farm animal for some reason I dont know why lol.

Esmerelda sounds pretty, but I think it's a bit much to actually use. It think of the character in the Disney Hunchback of Notre Dame. It's an exotic, gypsy sort name because of my association with that character.

Esme would be a nice nickname for Esmerelda, but I think Esmerelda is better suited for a pet than a person.

I told my mom the other day about how much I love the name Elsie and she told me never to name my kid that because it's the name of a cow mascot for some food product. And since we're big people, that would just invite teasing. So that might be why you think of Elsa as a farm animal!

I reallylike Eliza and I just love Esmeralda. I think it is such a gorgeous name, and even Esme is a nickname I like. I wish I heard this name more often. It's perfectly feminine but not made up soudning or trendy.

I've loved Esme ever since I read "The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox"-Which is a great book btw. And would be a cute nn for Esmerelda. I also love Eliza and Eloise and Emily and Evie....so Esmerelda is a good name.
