Hello, everyone, how do you feel about the meanings of names? That is, are they important to you? I for one always look up the meaning of a name before I decide whether or not I like it. I hate my own first name because it means "blind", so I often go by the name Allison Joy-AJ. If a name you liked had a disagreeable meaning, would you still use it? Also, what qualifies as a "bad" meaning for you? Thanks for sharing

I think that if a name has an obviously "bad" meaning or connotation (like Danger, Adolf, or Titanic), it should be steered clear of. But if it's a "bad" meaning that most people don't know (Cameron means "crooked nose"; Calvin means "bald"), I think it's fine. Ultimately, most people won't ever know your name's meaning, unless it's obvious or you tell them yourself.
As a side note, my name means pearl and I love pearls! The pearl is my birthstone, so it has a special meaning to me personally. But no one knows the meaning of my name unless I tell them.

My first name means Industrious and I love the eaning. It generally suits me(; lol I think my middle name means Pure. If I had a name that I loved that had a weird/bad meaning I would probably use it anyway but I prefer names with good meanings

I agree with Meghan. Unless its a very obvious meaning I don't really mind and few will actually know it, though I do loving knowing the meanings in general so I too look up the meanings of names I like. I have one, the name Fray/Fraye but I only like it with Jocelyn. It obviously means "To wear down or fray" which to me isn't exactly a plus but its not the worst in the world.
My real pet peeve is "kr8tive" spellings like Sofeeah (Sophia), Krystyna (Christina) or Klahrhys (Clarice), not using names with bad meanings.
Which brings me to the next point, my name meaning is fine, but the spelling for my middle name (though its not the worst I've seen) has always given me a little trouble in certain situations. My first name, Lauren, means "The Bay or Laurel Plant" my middle name, Daniellie (Pron. like Danielle) means "God is my Judge". I myself have never seen or heard of anyone else using the spelling Daniellie (I even Googled it )
But ultimately no, meaning plays very little part (unless obviously bad) in my naming process, even though it is a nice aspect.

Couldn't have said it better myself!
