Hello, my name is Jamie here. I would like to name my son Ruby. I know it's originally a woman's name. But, i'd think it would be unique to name my son Ruby. What do you think? Would it be okay to name my son Ruby?

Ruby is all girl to me.. so I wouldn't personally even think of using it for a boy.
But I suppose, to each his own.
If you like Ruby for a boy though, here's a few other ideas:
Emery
Alexis
Jess
Sidney
Blair
Cassidy
Wren
Ashley
Toby
Kelly
Shelby
Addison
Lee
Tristan
Aubrey
Perry
Leighton
Adrian
Rory
Hayden
Justice
Payton
Lane
Tegan
Beckett
Quinn
Bailey
Sage
Morgan
Harper
Fallon
Casey
Delaney
Reece
Taylor
Gale
Emerson

How about Rory? It's very similar to Ruby, but a much more masculine name with the same kind of feel as Ruby. Also, they have similar meanings. Ruby means "red" and Rory means "red king"

Rubi is actually a Hispanic boys name (a variant of Ruben) that has been typically & more commonly used on girls.
That being said, the fact that Ruby is a common girls name shouldn't necessarily dissuade you. I am assuming that your last name, Balandis, is Hispanic and that you are of Hispanic origin, correct? Depending on where you live, Rubi may be easily recognized as a boys name & a girls name. However, if you live in an area with mostly Non-Hispanics then Rubi may seem an off-the-wall choice.
My suggestion to you is if you really like the name Ruby/Rubi go for it. If you are worried that he will be teased for having a girl's name, you could always use it as a nickname for Ruben. If you aren't sure, there are several similar more recognizably masculine names that you could use...like Rudy or Toby.
