So I really really like unique names. The more ordinary the name the less I like it. My name is Nicole and I detest it because I find it so so very dull.
So now that my girl is coming I am trying to go unique / odd / nature-like without it being too far.
I know that a lot of people think of unique nature names as "stripper names" which really bothers me.
My favorite name that I've wanted to use for years and years for my daughter is
Rain
I know that most of the names I love the most work quite well for middle names, but I just don't want them to be middle names because you don't USE middle names.
My favorite names are
Rain
Skye
Less nature-ish names that I kind of like but not nearly as much are
Avia
Asha
Sasha
Aria
Charlotte
I don't usually like flowery names like Rose or Jasmine. Although I do like Lily
Can anyone maybe offer some other suggestions while sticking with my need to have it be something unique / rare and perhaps a little bit "nature" oriented?
Or can anyone offer me a nice but not too ordinary middle name for Rain or Skye?
I'm frustrated because I haven't heard a name ever that I like more than I like Rain or Skye.
Thanks for any help you can offer ladies!!

Rain is cute, I prefer the spelling 'Raine' because it looks more like a little girls name. I prefer Skye to Rain/e though.
Variations of Skye include:
Skyla
Skyleigh
Skyler
even Shylee
Avia - How do you pronounce it? It looks interesting.
Asha - Not my style as a first name but maybe as a nickname for Ashlyn?
Sasha - It reminds me of a puppy sorry
Aria - Not a fan
Charlotte - Love love love. Charley/Charli/Charli, Lottie, Lo or Char make gorgeous nicknames.
Lily is really pretty also.
Random suggestions:
Lilah
Poppy
Lola
Azalea
Scarlett
Violet
Mila
Ada
Ruby
Eden
Tori
Fern
Jessamine
Ivy
Sage
Decide on the first name and then ill be glad to help with the middle name. I like Skye the best and if you love it then go for it

I'd say to go with something longer, since Rain and Skye are only four letters long. I love the spelling of Skye. A similar name to Skye I like is Shye (though I know it's not nature related...)

Thank you all for the suggestions and for not being too brutal about the fact that I'm a bit of a hippie born in the wrong generation. =D
California: Avia is pronounced Ahhh-vee=-ahhh
Smile: I love the names
Aspen
Zinnia (although I'm not sure how you'd pronounce it but the way I think you say it sounds beautiful)
Raven: I love Nyra, Nova, and Nahla like crazy!!! They're unique without being so strange that older people wont cringe when they hear it!
I also really like
Rain Lillith
Rain Isabella
Thanks a ton so far for all of the suggestions! You guys are great. =D
