Pretty vs. Too much

Marguerite was our daughter's great great-grandmother. I like it as is, old-school, formal and feminine, but the general reaction has been that it's a long, old and "too much". What do you think?

Marguerite is gorgeous, confident and regal. Nickname Margot, Maisie / Daisy and Mimi make is more relatable, if that's what worrying you. Go for it. She'll appreciate the connection. Good luck! :0)

Personally I don't find it attractive at all. It sounds clunky and awkward and the family connection is sweet but the name itself is still too out-dated imo. There are plenty of cute, not-so-dated names you could use that are either connected to or similar to Marguerite.

Like Pearl or Daisy since the name literally means "pearl; daisy" or maybe something that can be a nickname or diminutive form of it like Margot/Margo, Mara, Maggie or Maisie.

I think it's lovely! It's a wonderful name! I think a very short middle name would go best with it!
