Lydie vs. Lydia vs. Elisabeth
What do you think of Lydie? Does it sound like a complete name to you? I love it, but can't convince my husband of it. He says it sound like a nickname for Lydia or Elisabeth. He likes both of these and says he is willing to use Lydie as a nickname. Would that be a better long term option. What do you think? What could be some other full names for the nickname Lydie? I like Lydia, but Elisabeth seems so plain and common to me. I don't hate it; you just hear it all the time.

I think Lydie is sweet. I believe it is a full name in France. If you like it best you should use it and not worry about a more formal name. Way too many Elisabeths out there, and really too many Lydia's. Lydie solves the problem of using an overly popular name where she will be one of several in her class.

Agree about Lydia Elisabeth! But also agree that Lydie would sound just as fine on its own.

Lydie is the French & Czech form of Lydia. I love it, so it gmv. GL!
^ Elodie nn Lydie may be an option, as well. :-)
Depends how you're pronouncing Lydie....French way is sweet, but the English way just sounds incomplete, like you've started to say "Lydia" and been interrupted.
