I am writing a novel and made a poll earlier today and got a lot of good names. I am doing an elimination poll! Please eliminate 2 only. It is about a adventurous girl born in 1984. Last name is either Caugbery, Churchill, or Barber but I'm not set on in. Thanks!

I am a book snob and so a stickler for that name wouldn't have been used in that time frame or in that location. Not knowing your setting, it is a little more difficult but most of those names don't work for a child born 1984. Not to say you couldn't weave a good story as to why her parents named her that. Misty probably would be the most 80s. Good luck on your book.

Eliminate Chiquita. Google why it is offensive and you will see why you shouldn't use it in a book.

Eliminate Candis I hate the way it looks.

I taught a Chantal during that time period. It was different, but pretty. Her middle name was Spring. I don't know if that was what you were looking for.
