I met two sisters today at work named Remington and Winchester, which I think would be even a bit much if they were boys. In my opinion, they are quite awful on girls, but I wanted to share and see what you guys thought.
Remington goes by Remi, and Winchester goes by Winnie, which I think are kind of cute nicknames, especially to derive out of such masculine names

Oh goodness..... Remington and Winchester!? I've heard of Remington on a girl (still can't stand it though) but Winchester? The Chester makes it all male! Plus... Its the name of a horse in a book I'm writing....

I agree... I probably wouldn't even use them on boys, let alone girls. That's a bit far. But Remi and Winnie are cute nicnames. Still... I'm not a fan at all

Those are all boy to me. I like the nicknames, but not the names. Both are so masculine, especially Winchester.

I agree. Maybe use one of them, on a boy. I'd but that with Martin's suggestions of Ninja and Claymore.

Love the nicknames, but I find the first names awfully pretentious on either gender, especially girls for some reason. And Winchester makes me think of rifles.

Sounds like someone's daddy is a gun collector! I personally prefer the Remington! Lol, all jokes aside though, almost everybody I know that I hunt with has a hunting dog named Remington, nn Remi.
Both sound much more like last names than first names, and my dad actually used to have a female chocolate lab named Remington, nn Remi that he hunted with now that I think about it. I don't really like either name personally.

I once read a book where a woman was named Remington nn Remi, but I would say this is only acceptable in print. Both would make interesting names for boys, but for girls they are pretty unforgivable. At least they have usable nickname options.

I agree that that's a little much, even for boys! But I think the nicknames Remi and Winnie are cute.

I would've personally used Emmy and Winnie, but to each his own.
Agreed that I REALLY dislike these, especially on little girls. I would have preferred Remy and Winslet.
