Thoughts on: vs. Maurice Clement

Hi, my husband’s and I’s background is French, ans we are thinking of calling our son Maurice Clement after both his grandfathers. But we are concerned that people will mispronounce his name as. MOR-is instead of mo-REES and KLE-ment instead of Klay-MAWN. What do you think? will his name get mispronounced his whole life, or should we still keep his name? Thanks! ~ Marie-Eve and Henri

I think you should be fine with Maurice. I read it and thought maw-rees, not morris. Clement might present a few challenges, but since it is his middle name, it probably won’t be that big of a deal. Good luck!

completely agree with first comment.When I first read it I got Maurice right but Clement wrong.But as a mn it shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

I agree with boths pps. Love Maurice but I don’t care for Clement. Family names are good though. GL!!

I don’t think anyone will pronounce Clement the way you want them to. But Maurice I think most people should get straight away. Maybe the middle name could be Clay? or just do Clement anyway, its not as important as the first name will be.
