Hi, I\’m Graydon Harper Lucas.

Harper is my mother\’s maiden name; it used to be a common tradition, though it seems to be less so now.

Having used the name for the majority of my life, I can tell you that I quite like it. I typically go by \"Gray\" (\"like the colour\") (I\’m Canadian, colour is with a \"u\") though I use Graydon for formal affairs, speaking to my professors, etc.

It\’s also nice that there\’s not many ways to mock it (something that parents seem to neglect to think about, yet is tremendously important). I get the occasional joke about how my name is a colour, but that usually dies pretty quickly.

As for middle name, of the above I personally like Graydon Edward, though I also recommend taking the mother\’s maiden name.
