I just think her whole life she’s going to get asked that question when someone reads her name ... Its bad enough with a last name for someone to ask you, how do you say your name? I work at a hair salon for children and all day we ask people how do you say his/her name? and everyone gets so aggravated with it...It is cute though, if you don’t mind telling everyone how its pronounced! GL

I think it is a cute name. True, you may have to tell "new" people how to say it. My daughters name is Alyssia(Ah Lee See Ah) and we do have to tell people how to pronounce it from time to time. But family and school all know how to say it at this point. So it is not that bad anymore. Anyways what is the alternative. You could name your daughter Isabella, Ava, Catherine, Marie, etc. I rather have a pretty and unique name.

Is there a story behind it? Does it mean something in antoher language?
If it means something to you, then that’s a reason to use it, but don’t love it...

I didn’t think that the pronounciation would be a problem to be honest. I thought it was pretty obvious but lately I’ve heard a lot of people say that it isn’t. If you read the name, how would you pronounce it?

When I first saw it, I pronounced it how you said it was. I think it pretty and unique, not weird though.

Shanoa, nn Shay, maybe? I think it looks better with an ’a’ instead of n ’e.’
