It’s ok, what about Parker? It’s still after your Grandmother.

I think it’s a cute name and is nice that it has a special meaning to you. :) He most likely will be called Hark as a nn, not sure if that bothers you or not.

Just Hark might be interesting but I’m not big on Harker. I understand wanting to use family names, we’re actually considering Becker. Harker may be better as a mn but if you both love it then use it. GL!!

I think it would be a great middle name, but I’m not so sure about a first name.

Honestly? It is quite odd for a first name. And, I looked it up online. Harken means one who listens. Harker is just a common english surname. I think it would be quite silly on a child. Although, it is better than Stormy Raine, Thunder Ace, and Maverick (these are all names I have seen on this site). If you love it, use, but this is the second poll I have seen so it sounds like you are unsure. I think the pp suggestion of Parker is still a lovely way to honor your grandmother. Good luck.

I am unsure I just loved the Idea of honoring my grandmother who raised me. This will be my only child due to fertility issues. I dont see how Parker would still be honoring her as it is not her name.

I would use it as a middle name.

I meant that since Parker has a similar sound it would honor her. All you would be doing is changing one letter. Also, it is a lovely idea to honor her, but using an odd name might not be the best for your child’s feelings. What is her first name? Maybe you can use the male form of it?

Her first name is Ruth. I dont know what a male form would be. lol

Use it as a middle name. These thoughts came to mind as soon as I heard it:
Hark, who goes there?
Hark the Herald Angels Sing.

Sorry
