Juliet/ Juliette vs. No Julie

Hello, I like the name Juliet/Juliette nn Jules not Julie. What do you think of the name and is it possible to not have her nn Julie? Some say the Romeo & Juliet reference will taunt her forever but I am not sure how I feel about that.

I personally like the name Juliet a lot, but she probably will be followed with the Romeo & Juliet reference for most of her life. If you aren’t sure about it, then maybe Julianna or Julia? My friend’s name is Julia and she goes by Jules. I think if you called her Jules then most other people would catch on and call her the same. GL! ;)

I like the Juliet spelling and the nn Jules as well as Jewel if you like that one. I think it is possible to have a Juliet/never a Julie. I have a Genevieve who mainly goes by Gen but never Genny and it works out fine. I don’t think the Romeo/Juliet thing is an issue either, that play is a work of art, which is a better reference than most teasing comes from. GL!!

I love the name Juliet, as well as Julia and Julianne.

I think it doesn’t have to be shortened to Julie, and that Jules is a great nn... be aware, though, that the time may come when SHE prefers Julie. Would you be okay with that?

I, personally, wouldn’t worry about the Romeo/Juliet association... it’s a beautiful name.

i love Juliet/te and don’t like Julie, i think if you want the nn Julie then that would be fine, but i think Jules is prettier, i don’t think Romeo & Juliet is a bad association, not like naming your kid Jezebel or Adolf

Juliet, spelled either way, is very pretty and already short; I would not worry over a nickname. Call her by her name. She will not get called Julie if you do not call her that yourself.

I love Juliet/Juliette! I think Julie is way dated and don’t think that will be used as a nn. Jules is cute.

I have a daughter, and if I have another I will be calling her Juliette - nn Jules.

It is a romantic, elegant name and I can think of worst things to be teased about!

There is a buzz around this name and I think it will become more popular soon, or though no way as popular as Isabella, Olivia, Ava etc etc

If you love it, go for it!!!!
