Erin to vs. go ahead vs. don’t do it
Hi I’m thinking about changing the spelling of my name from Erin to Eryn, I asked my parents and they said they don’t care that I might change it but are they just saying that or do they really don’t mind. I’m afraid that deep down they might be offended, what do you think?

Make Eryn your screen name or something or part of an email address just to see how it goes. Yep, it costs a lot of $ to do it legally, but you can do it just for fun for now. Personally, I love the name Erin and do not like uniques spellings. From experience, I can tell you it is a Pain!!!!

I agree. Maybe you are just going through a phase? My name is Erin, and I personally think Eryn is just awful. Sorry. :p I think you would regret it later. You’d be making the right decision to keep it the way it is. gl!

You can always try it out for a while before you have to make a legal change. I like the suggestion of using for an e-mail or Facebook or whatever... and see how it goes before you make any rash decisions.

I love Erin. Eryn is terrible. If I were you I’d just wait awhile before making this decision. When you’re older you’ll probably appreciate having the more traditional spelling. Also since it’s not a huge deal, it would be nice to keep the name your parents gave you.

How old are you? I ask because I went through a name spelling phase when I was younger, I think many girls do. Even in the 50’s my mom tried to change her name in grade 3 from Donna to Dawna. Most girls play around witht their name but find peace with it once they are older. Erin is a very classy name and will suit you well when you are older. Just wait a few years and you will see it’s not a big deal.
