Merrit vs. Merrick vs. HELP!!!!!!!! Need MAR or MER name

Do you like these? If you do like them what do you like them as 1st or mn names? Any 1st or mn suggestions to go with them. They aren’t set in stone yet. If you dont like them, do you know any other guy names starting with MAR or MER besides Marshall, Marcus, Marlin, Martin, Marvin, Merlin, Mervin, Marion and Mark. If we cant find anything we will probably give up and think of something else. THanks.

I like Merrick! It’s different, but not weird. I do not like Merrit--just because it’s a thing (merit).

I think it’s fine as a first name! Then maybe use a more common middle name like Thomas, James, Joseph, etc.

I like Merrick as a first name; it would also work for a mn.

I’ve heard of both names...like Merrick/Marek better than Merrit, personally. Also like pp’s suggestion of Mercer.

Like eveyone else, I like Merrick better and it would be fine as a fn.

Of the other ones you mentioned I really like Marshall.

I prefer Merrit or the Czech name, Marek. Undecided about Merrick.

Hm, I seem to be the lone vote for Merrit, but I like Merrick, too. I think either would work well as a first name. Merrick Thomas is a very nice combination. A few other ideas:

Merrick Alexander
Merrick Philip
Merrick Henry
