Arthur Reed or Edward vs. Peter (Pete) Reed or Edward vs. Henry (Harry) Reed or Edward

Which is best for a boy? We’re trying to find something classic but not overused. The middle name will most likely be either Reed or Edward, but we’re open to other ideas and would love to hear suggestions. If it helps, his older sisters are named Claire Amelia and Julia Margaret. Also, our last name is pronounced like "Jean"! Thanks, Sara and David

Arthur "READ" is the ardvaark from the populer tv series for kids, based on the books by Mark Brown. If you don’t mind, then that it’s a nice name.I don’t think Peter sounds good as Pete though. But I like Peter Reed as well.

Uh oh! I had no idea that Arthur the Aardvark had a last name! I guess that means Arthur Reed is out.

Also, we like Pete a lot better than Peter, too. But it doesn’t sound like a full name to us, so we’re thinking of going with Peter (if we use that one) but always calling him Pete.

Reed doesn’t flow with any of the names because of the R in each name. I would go with Edward as the middle name. Peter Edward sounds the best IMO.

All our names are wonderful classics, but you have a tricky last name! Reed is nice but...
1. Peter Reed Gene (nn Pete w/ln Gene sounds too short)
2. Henry Reed Gene (nn Harry w/ln Gene has too much teasing potenial). I’d stick to Henry (no nn) Reed
3. Peter (no nn) Edward sounds great too.
May I also suggest:
Harrison (nn Harris) Reed
Edward Harrison*
Claire, Julia and Edward make a great sibset!
