Anne Elizabeth vs. Vivienne Scarlette

My name is Leah and my girlfriend is Gennifer. We are both 24 years old. We used artificial insemination to get pregnant. I am 20 weeks pregnant with our daughter. I wanna name her Anne after my mother who passed away in 2005. But Gennifer hates the name and i hate the name Vivienne which she picked out. How can we compromise?

Well, if you love Anne and she doesn’t but she loves Vivienne and you don’t, you could either scrap both names and start fresh, or maybe use Vivianne (this spelling incorporates the name Anne) for the middle name and find a first name you both love. Good luck!

I agree about scrapping both and finding a fn you BOTH love. I like the suggestion of Vivianne/Viviane, I have loved this name ever since Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. However, if you don’t go with that I do think it would be very nice for Anne to be the mn in honor of your mother. Maybe even two mns, one for your mother and one for Gennifer’s. GL!!

Like others, I think Vivianne would be the logical compromise.

Certainly, you can’t use a name either of you hates.

From my personal point of view, Anne is a bit plain Jane, and I’m just not a huge fan of V names.
I also think the Vivienne Scarlette combo is over the top. Are you trying to make sure she becomes a Southern Belle-lol?!

Vanessa might suit you both.

Or I quite like Anne/Ann as part of a double fn.

Ann-Scarlett isn’t half bad.
