Jacqueline vs. Jaclyn

Which spelling? At first I wasn’t big on Jacqueline but then as I compare Jaclyn to Jacqueline, Jacqueline seems more fit for an adult. Jaclyn looks kinda weird to me now. What do you think?

Jacqueline is my name! I like it spelled the traditional way, not the trendy/short/made up way. The only thing I caution you on is that no one seems to be able to pronounce or spell it right! I don’t know why! But, I love the name and it’s worked well with me!

Go with Jacqueline if you want it pronounced zhahk LEEN or JAK kwuh lin and Jacklyn if you will pronounce it JAK lin..and I agree, people get tripped up on how to say Jacqueline but it’s becasue there are so many acceptable ways of saying it and I don’t think Jacklyn is at all trendy, it was back in the day but now it’s a name of it’s own with it’s own pronunciation. To me, these are 2 different names entirely.

I agree they are 2 different names, Jacqueline has an extra syllable. I don’t think Jaclyn looks weird at all. It just depends which one you like better, 3 syllables or 2. Both are nice.

Jacqueline looks better but Jacklyn sounds much better, don’t like Jaclyn, looks incomplete. Jacklyn is my favorite though. GL!

I much prefer Jacqueline, but I agree that it depends on how you’d like it to be pronounced.

I think Jacklyn spelled like this is easily recognized of what it is. The longer version seems out of date, spell it a more modern way.

I like Jacklyn. It looks like a sophisticated, womanly name, but it could also appear childish with Jackie or lyn as the nn. GL! Tell us what you decide!
