Donovan for vs. a girl?
Heyy- it’s Leiah again, I just made a poll about my twin girls, and we were wondering if Donovan would make a good girls name. We know it’s a boys name- but we LOVE it! Thanks.-Leiah, Brandon, Kayla, Ryker, and baby girls. (:
The Top Baby Name is...
Donovan for
a girl?

Donovan is horrible for a girl. Word of advice to all parents who are considering a masculine name for their daughters: Not all of your daughters will be prom queens. In fact, I remember a lot of girls in high school who were quite masculine looking. Having a masculine name would just make those awkward years a million times worse. Give your girls a name that is meant for girls and save Donovan for a boy.

I think it would make a good middle name. What other names are you considering for your twin girls?

I like it, especially with a girly middle name to balance it out!

Kiari and Stella, Stella and Sadie, (is Kiari as in Kairi and Riku, from the game? My friends named their cats that)

Ye!!!! Pair it with a feminine sounding middle name like Donovan Leah (for example) and her name will be perfect!
NO don’t do it. Your other choices are so much better.

Kiari is really cute, Kiari and Kamdin would be nice. Donovan doesn’t seem like it would work as a girl name at all.

I love love love Emerson spelled like this....Donovan is not the best name ever but as long as both twins kinda have masculine names it will be cute.
Emerson Kiari nn Emmie and Donovan Sophia nn Vannie
would be cute!

I love Donovan for a girl. It’s on my list. I also love Dallas and Oakleigh but everyone says they are too masculine. I say name your daughter what you want to name her and don’t worry so much about what everyone else thinks. All of your names are beautiful.

I don’t see the appeal to giving a little girl a masculine boys name. I just don’t get it. My name is Denise and when I was growing up teachers would sometimes say my name wrong at the beginning of the year and call out Dennis. Kids would start laughing because they knew I was a girl. I remember feeling pretty embarrassed. I would say to the teacher, that’s not my name! Then they would apologize. I couldn’t imagine if I really did have a boys name, and I was grateful I didn’t. I just can’t understand why someone would want to put their kids through that. Kids are cruel, and unless your kid is going to look like Cameron Diaz, I wouldn’t do it.
