I don’t like Jazlyn at all and it really changes how you’d actually pronounce the name. Josalyn is a great spelling. GL!

See that’s what I mean. I didn’t want it pronounced JAZZ-lyn. I wanted JAWZ-lyn.

I like Josalyn, and Josslin is nice too.

My friend spells it Joslyn. I think it’s the best way to spell it, and to me if you spell it Josalyn you add an extra syllable.

My daughter’s name is Jocelyn Joan-Marie. Her middle name is hyphenated because it’s a combo of her maternal grandmother’s first and middle name. I think it’s nice to add some family linkage when possible.

When ever I have a baby and it’s a girl I am naming her Jocelyn Jean. It’s my grandma’s middle name. And I like that her friends or teammates one day can call her JJ or Joss

Here is a different one, no one has mentioned and I would like some opinions. We have having a little girl in July. We want to name her Jocelyn (which is how I have always known to spell it) But I want to spell it differently. My brothers name is Josh and my middle name is Lynn. So I am thinking about spelling it Joshlynn. What do you all think of this. If not Joshlynn then probably Jocelynn. I just don’t want people to mispronounce her name when she is in school and everywhere else in life. I don’t want people to pronounce it as Josh-Lynn. And I really don’t want her to be teased as a child being called Josh as a boy. This is a hard decision for me because my brother doesn’t want kids but is a wonderful uncle to my kids. This is our baby #3 and last and only girl. Her middle name for sure will be Louise after my passed grandmother.

Jamie, I just had a baby girl in February whom I named Jocelyne. My Grandmother mispronounces it as Joshlynn. If you use Joshlynn people will certainly pronounce it the way it is spelled and Josh would likely be a nickname. Perhaps she can have two middle names or a hyphenated one? Regardless, the Joce part sounds like "joss" which is very similar to Josh. So rest assured knowing the name is very similar to your brother’s in this sense! It is simply making his name more feminine for your daughter. Think of it like Patrick and Patricia, Michael and Michelle, Charles and Charlotte, etc. "Josh" or "Joshie" could be nicknames for her with family. Good luck and congrats!

I like the spelling Josalyn but i don’t like how people spell Jocelyn because all the ways you spell have a different sound like jocilin or Jazzlin or Jocelin just sound it out and you’ll here it 😊

Different spellings mean you will always have to correct how people spell and or pronounce the name. Its like saying i love the word pronounce but hate the spelling.. I will spell it prenoonse and correct people the rest of my days. There is an accepted way to spell it. It maks life easier for all so please use it.

I think unique names are wonderful. I prefer to stick with the most common spelling of a name though. Children who’s parents give their name a unique twist with a different spelling do not seem to realize that the child will spend his/her whole life correcting people on the spelling and sometimes pronunciation of their name.

As a Jocelyn, I don't see the issue with the spelling? People use my name audibly I've never been followed by anyone holding it up on a sign, although there is a road sign with my name on it in Kew near London UK

I'm also in a similar boat as the original poster! I love the name Jocelyn but want to possibly call her Josie so I thought Joslyn or Josilyn for the spelling. My husband, however, likes Jozlyn because our sons name is Ezra and he thinks the Z's go together. Are they all pronounced the same?? I don't know any Jocelyn's to understand the syllables. I've heard both ways! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Her middle name will be Jade!
Jocelyn Jade
Joslyn Jade
Josilyn Jade
Jozlyn Jade
Jozilyn Jade

Those are my options :)
