Maci Jane vs. WDYT?
My dh and I are thinking about naming our first daughter Maci Jane(With this spelling). It is the combination of his grandparents (Marvin[went by Mac] and Janet). I love it but dh is not completely convinced... he likes Mackenzie better but I’ve never really been a huge fan. My mother in law suggested Mackenzie with a nn of Maci but I am not a fan of nick names. I want her name to be her name. I’m kinda getting frustrated and I even started thinking about scratching the whole "family name" thing all together and starting over.
Thank you so much for any help/opinions
Melissa and Christopher

Maci Jane is really cute! I really like it. I also love Mackenzie but I can’t say I’m a fan of nns either so I would say just got with Maci.
Good Luck :)

It sounds like Macy Gray to me...depending on your taste that may or may not be a bad thing.

Macy spelling.
If you both don’t like it you might scrap the family name thing and find ones you love.

Are u pronouncing Maci like Macey or like Mackey?
Mackenzie is much better imo because Macey makes me think of Mace spray.
Mackenzie nn Mac or Maci(pronounced Mackey) I think is the better name, but thats just my opinion.
Macey Jane tho is not a horrible name, I think u’l be fine either way, I just prefer Mackenzie, esp if ur trying to name her after a Mac

I like it. I like Macy spelled this way better though. And please don’t give her a name just to have a nickname! My given name is Nicole, but have been Niki since the day I was born. On every doctors appointment, job interview, etc. I have to tell them what to call me. It gets old after awhile :) So, go with your gut and don’t do a nickname name!

That had been mentioned to us by family and I thought it was cute but my only issue is that it is kinda long and a bit of a mouthful and like I mentioned before I don’t want her to go by a nickname.
Thanks for all the suggestions/ opinions everyone!
