My partner and i really like the name Kayla for a girl, but our best friends have a daughter named Kailley. We aren’t sure whether this is too similar or not. Do you think we should go with the name Kayla?

I think you should go with it. If you like it then it doesn’t matter. Your friends would probably think it was nice that you called your daughter something similar. Shows you both have good taste.

You could use it as a middle name if you think it’s too similar.

I agree if you think it is too similar then use it as a middle name but the fact that you and your husband have come up with a name that you both love then go for it

I don’t think its too similar.
However you might like to consider using Michaela nn Kayla as an alternative.

My name is Julie, and my parents’ best friends had a Julie a year later. We grew up playing together all the time, and we are still friends. It was never a problem! And the ones you like aren’t even the same name. Go for it!
