Alexander Nathanael vs. Too Long? Yes vs. No
Is Alexander Nathanael too long a name? Our last name is very short (4 letters, 1 syllable), and we will call him Alex for short. Both are family names, and I don’t want to use one without the other. If we nix this name for being too long, we will go back to the drawing board. I know most people don’t go by their full name usually, so is it OK to give our son such a long name?

I love long names. To me, Nathaniel Alexander sounds better but either way, he only really uses the one name so go for it! I’m pretty sure that I’ll be naming my daughters (due in November), Natalia Evangeline and Rosalina Hermione. Plus, we have a little boy named Sebastian Achilles, so I’m all for long names.
