Due vs. In vs. November!

I’m Lauren and I’m 16. My boyfriend Cody and I are expecting our first child, a DAUGHTER in mid-November. :) We need help finding names that we like. We both like all kinds of names, but really want her name to be girly. Names we have considered are Kristyn, Joslynn, and Audra, but we’re wanting more suggestions. Her middle name will most likely be Ann, Grace, Danielle, or Brooke. Thanks for helping! ~Lauren and Cody~

That comment is very uncalled for. Our daughter will be better taken care of than some babies with 30 year old parents. She has everything she needs already so if you don’t have any name suggestions, move onto another poll

Don’t you mean Cory? Not Cody?

I LOVE Audra! Beautiful and unique, not over-used, trendy or old-fashioned! I also like Audrey! Or even Ariel, Aurora, Aaliya, Ayla, Audrina, Although even of them all I think Audra is still my fav! Do you like any of the other suggestions?

We aren’t considering adoption. She has everything she needs already AND I still have a baby shower coming up. We have her crib, bedding, more clothes than she’ll ever be able to wear, stroller system, everything she’s going to need! We know how expensive babies are, but this is OUR baby and we are going to raise her. We didn’t ask for advice on whether we should put our child up for adoption, we asked for name help!

Diapers, wipes and formula is the most expensive part.
What about hospital bills?
Where are you going to live?
How do you plan on finishing school?
How old is Cory?
posted by guest :: 14 years ago | report
His name is Cody, and he is 17. I really don’t think that all of those questions are any of your business though...

Babies need a lot more than "material things."

I like the name Callie, Rachel, and Jamie.
posted by guest :: 14 years ago | report
Your not ready for a baby. Adoption.
posted by guest :: 14 years ago | report
The only reason you won’t answer those questions is because you don’t know the answers.
posted by guest :: 14 years ago | report
Excuse me. You do not KNOW us, how do you know if we’re ready for a baby? We don’t party, don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t go out on weekends, our baby comes first for us already. We are way more mature than all of our friends and our daughter will be more taken care of than a lot of babies out there. We’re not putting her up for adoption!
posted by Lauren :: 14 years ago | report
Yes we do know the answers, they’re just NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.

We know what a baby needs, and our daughter has everything she needs and more. A loving family, a happy home, and all the material things she will need.

Now, we did not come on here for anybody to jump on us, OR to argue with anybody. We will be ignoring ANY and ALL posts from now on that don’t have anything to do with names for our daughter.

Guest, you are weird. This is a baby name poll, not a soapbox on teen pregnancy. Besides, most women choose to forgo formula - breastfeeding is free :o)

Now, on to baby names which is such fun!
My favorites:
Audra Brooke
Emeline Grace (pronounced Emma-LINE)
Isabella Grace (nickname Isa pronounced eesa)
Ella Reese
Gabriella Lorien
Meliah Brooke

Best of luck to you!

Reason #850 why you DON’T need to but your age on this site...why even give your names?
posted by guest :: 14 years ago | report
That’s what you think. You don’t know what it takes to truly raise a baby.
posted by guest :: 14 years ago | report
Chitown Mama- We love Emeline Grace, we also really like Ella Reese and Gabriella, but not with Lorien.

Not everyone can breast feed, and it is really not free. Mothers have to eat certain foods and maintain a certain caloric intake.
posted by guest :: 14 years ago | report
Don’t marry Cory. Give your baby a chance and put her up for adoption.
posted by guest :: 14 years ago | report
Why do you keep calling him Cory rather than Cody? Is there another poll you are referring too.
posted by guest :: 14 years ago | report
I just want to know why you all think you have the right to tell anyone whether they are 16 or 36 what to do with their baby. Please get off your high horses and just help the girl name her baby. Atleast they’re trying to give her a good life, they seem much more mature than most teenagers I know.

Anyway, Lauren and Cody, what do you think of the names Aria Grace, Anya Danielle, Abigail Brooke or Sienna Grace??

Good luck, and don’t let anyone bring you down, I’m sure you will do just fine (:
posted by HeatherS :: 14 years ago | report
Thank you Heather!!! We both really like all of those names, Aria and Anya being our favorites though.
posted by Lauren :: 14 years ago | report
teenagers aren’t mature enough to consider adoption bc they have no frame of reference. Just give her names and be done with it.

Just ignore the rude posters - they obviously don’t lead very happy lives and just want to try and cause sh*t on the net. Good luck in choosing your name.

What about Nya/Nyah? Something different.
Or Ashlyn (one of my faves).

What do you think?

Audra is cute! Also what about Lila, Amelia, Audrey, Macy, Maya?
And who ever said breastfeeding isn’t free is just being silly. One has to eat anyway. I have breastfed two daughters now each for a year. I didn’t have higher grocery bills because of it!!!! It was best for my daughters health and our family financially! I know not every one can do it but please try for at least a little while. Of course being 16 you’ll probably have title 19 for insurance and WIC for formula...that is why people (tax payers) get all huffy about teen pregnancy and the like. I wish you the best of luck. Stay in school and plan on going to college!!!!!
posted by guest :: 14 years ago | report
You really need to consider adoption. Most teen pregnancy turn into a mess. The mother & father only have a 2% chance of staying together & majority of teen pregnancy children end up in foster care.
posted by guest :: 14 years ago | report
You are due in January, not November.
posted by guest :: 14 years ago | report
Okay--I do NOT condone teen pregnancy, so let me just get that out of the way. However, what is the point in being ugly to any of them? I will bet that a majority of the people on this site did NOT wait until they weren’t teens and most certainly not until they were married to have sex. What would have happened if one of your little "dates" went wrong and you got pregnant as a teen or unmarried woman? You are no better than the poster, so get over yourself. And, the poster who said that most teenagers’ kids end up in foster care---where in the world did you get that info from???? I know lots of teen parents whose kids have turned out just fine. Age is just a number. Anyone who has a baby for the first time is a first time parent. Whether you are 16 or 36, you are still stepping into something that you have never been in, and you are going to make mistakes. That said, I hope this ends well for the child’s sake, and I hope the posters realize this is more than just a walk in the park, it is a lifetime commitment.
posted by guest :: 14 years ago | report
Not everyone can be a teen parent.
& you Lauren, are not ready.
posted by guest :: 14 years ago | report
OKAY!!! I suggust the people who are on this site to bash teens cuz they are pregnant need to get off of this site....And to the poster who "apparently" knows the poster needs to get off of here...the only thing you are doing is stressing everyone out. You and everyone in the world is not gonna change her mind about the decision to keep her baby your only gonna make things harder. So please GET LOST!.....back to baby names
