stolen baby vs. name crisis vs. please help

My friend wants to use the name I picked out for my daughter which is Kendra, because I wanted it to match with her older sisters Sandra’s name. Its a tradition in our family to have the sibling names match, like for example my sisters name is Danielle and mine is Noelle, but she really insists on using Kendra what should I do?? P.S also shes due any day now while I am 3 whole months away from my due date!!!

You could both use it although it would be weird having a cousin with the same name. Maybe your sister or you might like one of these names...

I would still use Kendra. She’s just a friend not a family member so it’s not like they’ll see each other all the time. I would stick with it. Need middle names.

Second poster, its a friend, not a sister. Just use the name. You all aren’t related, so I don’t see the big deal.

I would be super hurt if a friend announced she planned to use a name, knowing it was the one I had picked out.
Seriously not a very good friend imho.

If you love it, and it won’t bug you to share it, then go ahead and use it.
Your friend certainly can’t be mad, since you had picked it first.

If it would bug you, pick something else.

And, honestly, your tradition is a little goofy.
I’m sure you could start others and just pick a lovely name!

I agree with the first poster. Although it could be said a bit nicer. If your friend had announced Kendra first and you truly LOVED the name how would you feel? No one owns a name and unless it is a close family member I see no problem using the same name.

oh no! i love the name Kendra! looks like she’s going to use it before you though, so you’re gonna have to look for something else if the girls are going to be growing up together, i think the 2nd poster has given just about all the names that would fit with your family tradition, i like Alejandra and Leandra best.
