Leighton Elise vs. Honor Gianna vs. Willow Nadia

We are expecting our second baby girl in February. We have a 17-month-old named Lyric Payton. We do have a slight dilemma however. My brother and his wife are also expecting their first around May, and want to use the name Leigh if the baby is a girl. But we have been planning on using Leighton since I was pregnant with Lyric. My mom seems to be siding with Matt, since she never really "approved" of me having children so early. I’ve come to the conclusion that fighting isn’t worth it, and we’ll just use another name. But I keep coming back to Leighton Elise. What do you think? Thanks! ~Erin

I think you should use the Leighton no matter what your brother uses. Leighton and Leigh are similar but are 2 totally different names. Good luck.

Leighton Elise is nice. (Mind you, it is not as pretty and feminine as Lyric.) It does not sound anything like Leigh (e.g. Layton vs. Lee). However, if it will make your life miserable, choose something else.

Honor Elise is nice. I really don’t like Gianna with it. Honora or Honoria Leighton would also be great!

Willow Nadia also sounds fine.

I agree with pp.. Leighton Elise is lovely. If you’re that worried you could change the spelling slightly so it doesn’t look like Leigh.
Layton Elise
Leyton Elise
Leiton Elise
Laiton Elise
Laityn Elise
Leityn Elise

I think first come first served. I have expressed to relatives names I have loved and they took them and I had to use something else, but I couldn’t be too upset because I knew they liked the names as well and I wasn’t pregnant at the time and they were. I would go with Leighton what if your brother and wife change their mind? If you decide not to go with Leighton I like both of your other name choices. I also like Gianna Elise.

I’d use Leighton Elise anyway. If you’re still worried, I think Willow Gianna goes the best with Lyric Payton. GL!

I agree with pp, you’ll have your daughter first and have wanted to name her Leighton for a long time. Name her what you want. The two names sound completely different. Leighton Elise is beautiful. You could change the spelling to make it look different than Leigh. I like the way you have it the best, GL!

I love all your middle names, the firsts are just okay to me. Maybe use Leighton as a middle name at a compromise?

Seriousy?

I think you got a tremendous gift here.

Leighton is a super unattractive name on a little girl imho.
Why mothers would want their teenage daughters to some day have a name with the lay sound at the front is beyond me.
Boy are they in for it in 10th grade!

Moreover, Leighton is a totally different style than the pretty but funky Lyric.
Willow (my first pick) and Honor are Much Better matches!

Willow Nadia gives your daughter a beautiful name that compliments her sister’s and keeps the family harmony!
That’s a 3 way winner in my book!!
