I love Hagen. I would spell it Haygen though. You could call him Hay for short just like Max is short for Maximus. Max and Hay. Good Luck

I really like Hagen the best. I think that you should go with an uncommon name that has a somewhat common nn like Maximus nn Max. What about Bennett nn Ben?? Or something like that? You can’t really shorten any of the names that you have.

I think Roman is a great name! They don’t both need a one syl. nn. I honestly do not like Hagan at all - especially if you used the nn Hay

I think Roman and Maximus sound the best. My next choice would be Silas and Maximus. I would also suggest Maximus and Elias and Maximus and Lucius or Lucian.

I don’t like Hagen and Hay would be a still nickname. Shortened his nickname would more likely be Hag. Ugh! Silas is kind of feminine sounding. Of your choices Roman is the best. It’s easy to pronounce and is still masculine. Some of the other suggestions like Bennett or Lucien are also nice.
