Why ask for our opinions on the name "for a girl" and then tell anyone who thinks it is a boy’s name not to bother with the poll? That seems a little contradictory to me.

I think it is fine for a girl, and can’t really picture it on a boy.

I think it’s the new Madison and will sound tired in a few short years.

Personally, I love Addison on a girl. People always say that its overused but I am around babies and small children all the time and I have yet to meet anyone named Addison! Addy/Addie is my all-time favorite nn for a girl :)

She probably just wanted to know if you like the name or not in general, not to bash her for liking a unisex name. I’m sure that’s what she meant.

Anyway, I really like the name and think it’s cute. I also really like Madison. The nn Addie is really sweet too.

i think it’s fine for a girl, i’ve never heard of it on a boy, although i’m sure it must have been a boy name at some point with the -son ending, i just don’t like that it’s so trendy and popular, i don’t see the point in asking what people think of the name and then saying but don’t say it’s a boy name, if that’s what people think then they’re entitled to their opinion
