Abigail vs. WDYT?

I love the name Abigail, but everone I tell has shot it down. I know it is my choice, but I want my daughter to like her name too. What do you think about the name?

I really like the name Abigail, she could be called Abby or Gail for a nn. It’s not that common of a name either.

I really love the name and have thought about using it myself. The only thing that made me think about not using it was because most people will probably call her Abby. But it is still a very pretty name.

I think it’s a beautiful name. I’m not sure why anyone would shoot this name down. It’s a classic. I say go for it if you love it.

Personally, I find it unattractive. That being said, I know tons of Abigails who go by Abbie and it suits them to a tee. If you like the name, I’d go for it. If you aren’t for sure, you could always use it as a middle name

I can’t understand why anybody would be strongly against Abigail. I think it’s lovely!

People have their own opinions, but can’t see why Abigail would be so abhorrent to anyone as it is to the rude previous poster.

Pretty but really common right now. Still, it is way better than something trendy and made-up and I also really like Abby as a nn!

I LOVE the name! I think its gorgeous, classy, and ages great. However, its gotten very common lately. Thats the only downside to the name overall IMO. If you love it, you should definitely go for it!
