Ariel vs. Yes? vs. No?

Hey. My mn is Ariel and my husband wants to name our baby girl Ariel. It is the only name he wants to use as a fn. What do you think? I am not a 100% sold on it yet. Is it ok to use my mn as her fn or is that a little weird? What would be a cute mn? Thank you!

I think that’s a great first name and the fact that it would be part of her mother’s name makes it even more special. I’m a big fan of the show Medium and I love all the daughter’s names on the show, Ariel, Bridget and Marie...just thought I would share:)

I would use it as a single fn, not as a 2part first name if you use it. Would also be fine as a mn. And definitely isn’t odd to give her your name.

Ariel is a beautiful name. It is perfectly fine to use your mn as her first name. It is a great idea!

What is hubby’s name? My nieces middle name is Deanne b/c her daddy’s middle name is Dean. Maybe you could do something like that for her middle name.

I think Arielle would be perfect! It stills honors you, but gives it a twist to make it her own. Ari is super cute for short :)
