Need a Name vs. to please both vs. of us

Baby boy Jennings will be arriving in a few short weeks. We have had LOTS of discussions and LOTS of compromising to come up with this list of names. DH wants something strong, fierce, unique and related to nature and/or animals. I simply want to tame down the name to something likable and partially normal. Thanks!

Other names dh loves that I would consider for a mn - Mako, Falcon, Wolf, Viper, Bear

Other names I like which mean warrior and trying to convince dh they are ok - Chad, Gideon, Gunnar, Hogan

Sorry now I see your list. I think Hunter Gideon or Hunter Chad would be a nice combo of the names you like and the names dh likes.

I really like Hunter, it’s a strong, masculine name but seems pretty normal at the same time. My cousin’s name is Hunter and he’s a rich, preppy boy and it fits him just fine. I think it will age the best out of all your choices too.

Do you have any mn’s picked out? Some solid mn choices could be:

I like Forest very much.

I think it’s handsome and sort of artsy, too.

I don’t hate Hunter, but I’ll tell you, every one I’ve known has been a total hooligan.
We met one at a party who was punching random kids.
My son got mixed up and referred to him as, "Killer."

I like Gideon a lot. Very cool without trying so hard.
Chad seems ’80’s to me, but it’s not awful.

The others I wouldn’t consider.
Lynx, Falcon, Wolf, and Bear are bordering on the cruel.
What if your son turns out to be short for his age and has a bookish personality?

These names just scream immature/attention-seeking parents imho.
Remember the kid in the balloon hoax?
No coincidence his name was Falcon!!

Yes, I understand the immature/attention-seeking parents remark! If you saw the first list my dh put together, you would be applauding me for getting him to this list!!!

Blaze (as a mn)
Dashiell nn Dash

Talon (as a mn)
Orion - I think this is really a cool name and a good way of getting the "hunter" part in. Thanks!
