Kallan over Cohen, but Callan over Kallan.
I think giving him a real name as a middle name is better than using a surname, especially since his first name is a surname was well. It might start to sound like a law firm. But using your maiden name as a sort of second middle name would be nice. Something like Callan Joshua Bascomb Parks, but he doesn`t use Bascomb on a regular basis.

I used my mother’s maiden name for my son’s middle name (Logan Blake). Go for it!
