Portia Poppy vs. Portia Brigitte vs. Portia Audrey

After much help from our last poll, my husband and I have decided on either Gwendolyn Ruth or Portia (something) for our baby girl (big sisters Esme and Alice will make the final decision). We love the history behind the name Portia and the only thing left is to find a middle name that works. Which combination do you like best? Thanks! - Penelope, Theodore, Esme, Alice and Bub.

I’m sorry, but Portia to me just doesn’t sound at all flattering. However, Ruth is lovely!!! Ruth Brigitte or Ruth Audrey are both beautiful.

Esme, Alice and Ruth! I didn’t really understand the poll...are your daughters choosing the name? Anyway, I love those three together! GL!

Oh, I’m sorry if I was unclear. My husband and I are narrowing down the list to two names we really love, and then Esme and Alice are going to choose their favourite and that will be the baby’s name. We let Esme (she was 2 at the time) choose Alice’s name as a way to help her feel involved in her new sister’s life from the very first moment. It worked better than we could ever have hoped for, and the girls are inseperable now. Esme is so protective of Alice and we’ve never had any sibling jealousy issues (touch wood!). Given how well it worked last time, we are letting the big sisters choose again. Gwendolyn Ruth will be one option, and Portia will be the other.

(When naming Alice, Esme was allowed to chose between Alice Elisabeth and Juliette Beatrice.)
